Changing your Air Filter
A great way to maintain your car on your own is changing the air filter. When you change the filter it can save you money and time. The air filter should be changed every 15,000 miles in case you didn’t know.
- The first thing you need to do is purchase the filter at an auto parts store or online. If you are unsure about which filter to get you can check your owner's manual.
- The owner's manual will tell you the filter to buy. If you lost your manual just talk to someone at an auto parts store and they will help you. The right size filter will make a difference in how your vehicle performs.
- Once you have the right filter, you can remove the old one by unscrewing it or taking off the clamp.
- Make sure your new filter matches the old one when you take it out.
- Wipe of the area with a cloth if you need to and put the new filter in. Screw it in or clamp it in.
