Learn How to Wax Your Car
Many people don't want to spend the time waxing their vehicle, or they just don't know exactly how to do it. Waxing does take a bit of time, but if you can spare it, the results are worth it. If you wax your car every couple months, you can protect the paint from fading, rusting, and corroding. Follow these steps when waxing your vehicle:
- Wash your car and dry it all the way before waxing.
- Read the container to make sure the job it does it right for your purposes.
- Any wax you choose needs to be non-abrasive. Ask for help from sales people.
- Wax your car in a shady area so the sun does not bake the wax into the finish of your car. If you don't have any shade, then wax your car in different parts so the wax is removed faster and will not harden.
- Read all directions when you are waxing, even if you have used the product before.
- Many waxes need damp sponges to apply it on your vehicle. Place wax on sponge and apply to vehicle in small circular motions. Don't let the wax get into the seams of the vehicle.
- If there are marks that were not removed from washing, wax on that spot until it is gone.
- Don't take your time when waxing, if the wax is left on for too long it will be hard to remove.
- When each section is finished, use a soft cloth or rag to wipe the wax off with circular motions.
- It may take a bit more muscle to wipe all the wax off and you will probably need lots of soft rags.
- After this is over, you should take another soft cloth and wipe the entire surface of the vehicle so no spot is missed.
- Wash your dirty towels with a mild detergent and fabric softener for further use.
